Kirlianit Cortes – tenor

Began his singing studies in Europe at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna where he received his degree of Magister Artium Interpreting Lied and Oratorio with the Mezzo-soprano KS Marjana Lipovsek. He also studied singing and interpretation with KS Margarita Lilowa, Helena Lazarska, KS Francisco Araiza and Ilko Natscev in Vienna. Kirlianit did his debut in Bogotá with the Opera of Colombia, singing in the opera Rigoletto the role of Borsa. Since his arrival in Europe, he has sung at the Gttärtnerplatz Theater, the Theater at Schönbrunn Palace, Wiener Konzerthaus, Grazer Konzerthaus, Wiener Kammeroper, Theater Morlacchi of Perugia, Teatro Lirico di Spoleto, Bunka Kai Kan (Tokyo), West Norges Opera,Oper Festival St. Margarethen. Volksoper Vienna, Schanghai Opera, Krakow Philarmonic, Opera Wroclaw. He recorded the roles of Florville in Rossini’s Il signor Bruschino and Dorvil in La scala di seta on CD, the role of Robert in the operetta Die Göttin der Vernunft by Johann Strauss (World Premiere) under the Naxos International label. He also sang the role of Mendel in the filming of the opera HIOB by the Austrian composer Erich Zeisl at EXIL.ARTE.

He also participated in numerous oratorios and masses, such as Bach’s Johannes Passion, Mattheus Passion, Coffee Cantata (Orquesta filarmónica de Medellín), Magnificat, Georg Friedrich Händel’s Messiah, Dvořak’s Stabat Mater Op. 58, Rossini’s Stabat Mater (Orchestra Sinfonica di Bari, Capella Cracoviensis, Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonkunstverenigung) or Kurpinski’s Te Deum at the Musica Sacra Festival in Krakow. Kirlianit is also a frequent performer of songs by Schubert, Wolf, Strauss, Brahms, Schumann, Beethoven, Duparc, Fauré and Spanish concert literature. 2013 and 2014 was cover of the tenor Piotr Beczała and Ramon Vargas by international known concert Christmas in Vienna.
