Katarzyna Jagiełło – soprano

Born in Olsztyn. Her music education has started with violin and then changed into singing lessons at the Music School in Olsztyn. In years 1996-2001 she studied at the Academy of Music in Lodz in class of professor Beata Zawadzka-Kłos, that she graduated with distinction. As a scholar of „Hans und Eugenia Jütting Stiftung” and „Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst”, she continued studying at postgraduate studies with an Lied and Oratorio profile and Opera profile at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and at Hochschule für Musik in Dresden in Christian Elssner’s class. Both of these colleges she graduated with distinctions.

She is a laureate and finalist of many international vocal competitions, among other, 1 st Prize at 19 th International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, 2 nd Prize and Special Award at International Vocal Competition in Trnava (Slovakia). Artist has in her repertoire more than 70 leading soprano roles in oratorio-cantata music and opera which she performed in majority of Polish philharmonics and theatres in Poland, Slovakia and Germany (Opera na Zamku in Szczecin, Teatr Wielki in Łódź, , Štatna Opera in Baňska Bystřica, Theater Ulm). She was singing under the baton of appreciated conductors such as Marek Pijarowski, Stanisław Krawczyński, Łukasz Borowicz, Zygmunt Rychert, Piotr Sułkowski, Warcisław Kunc, Hans Christoph Rademann, Franz Raml Marian Vach, Timo Handschuh, Nils Schweckendiek, Mathias Grünert or Daniel Montagne.

Singer’s important achievement was recording of the soprano part in J. S. Bach’s Weihnachstoratorium with Dresdner Barockorchester conducted by Hans Chrisoph Rademann for RAUM KLANG publishing house.

In years 2008-2010 artist worked as an assistant with an PhD degree at the vocal faculty of the Academy of Music in Wrocław.

In years 2010-2015 she worked as a soloist in Theater Ulm in Germany where she could be seen performing role such as Sophie (Rosenkavalier), Ginevra (Ariodante), Romilda and Atalanta (Xerxes), Dorinda (Orlando), Costanza (Ricardo Primo), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Norina (Don Pasquale) or Githa (Zwerg). Artist is regularly cooperating and performing in Poland, Germany and Europe with orchestras like Dresdner Barockorchester, Hassler Consort, Capella Cracoviensis and Nürnberger Bach – Orchester.
