Dainius Stumbras – baritone

In 1989-1994 Mr. Stumbras studied Chorus Conducting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, in 2000 received his MA Diploma in Vocal Performance (class of prof. Vytautas Juozapaitis). In 1989 he won 1st Pize at the Republican Competition of Conductors. As an opera soloist, he made his debut at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2000 with the role of Giorgio Germont in G. Verdi’s “La Traviata”.

In 2002 Mr. Stumbras received an “Operos Švyturiai” Award as Opera Hope of the Year, three years later was awarded an “Operos Švyturiai” Award as Male Opera Soloist of the Year.

In 2002 he made his debut at Latvian National Opera, 2003 – Estonian National Opera, 2004 – 2005 – Lithuanian Opera Company in Chicago, 2004 Krakow Opera, 2005 – The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Tbilisi Opera, Macedonian National Opera. Dainius Stumbras has collaborated with such conductors as G. Rinkevičius, J. Domarkas, S. Sondeckis, J. Aleksa, A.Vedernikov, V.Viržonis, M. Staškus, D. Katkus, J. Geniušas, V.Lukočius, V.Gionenvein, J. Alperten, A. Nelsons, A. Kanonici, A. Strasinsky, K. Zender, K. Rici Brinjoli, etc.

Mr. Stumbras has toured Sweden, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, Belarus, Russia, Slovenia, Estonia, USA, Macedonia, Georgia, Latvia and elsewhere.
